New Street Signs in Atlantic Beach

New Street Signs in Atlantic Beach

Residents and visitors marvel at the recent improvements in Atlantic Beach SC, aka The Black Pearl, right in the heart of North Myrtle Beach near Barefoot Landing and House of Blues.  The progress is largely due to the efforts of the Atlantic Beach Beautification Committee, chaired by Kenneth McIver.  Under his guidance the group completed many long-overdue projects.  Will Thomas oversaw the installation of the new blue and green street signs.  Each has  fluorescent lettering and dress up the intersections pointing the way to the town’s new vacation rentals, including the luxury beach home, Divine By The Beach.  Next are the eye-catching, brightly colored benches and trash receptacles placed strategically throughout the town’s streets.  The benches and receptacles are the first phase of a green space project being coordinated by Lynda Booker and sponsored by some of the businesses, including Palmetto Landscaping, a long-term local business.  In addition, the fire hydrants have been painted a vibrant canary yellow, and finally there’s been a pruning of the trees along the five-block town.  Now the limbs no longer hang and block views of the gorgeous ocean views.

Some might say these all seem like simple gestures.  For a town as small as Atlantic Beach these small projects have a large impact.  The greatest impact of all is the civic pride evident on the smiles of the residents and property owners.  Book your stay at Divine By The Beach.  Come see the progress.
